For over 20 years, as a homesteader on an organic farm in Kealakekua, Big Island, I've built authentic relationships with the ʻāina and our community. This has allowed us to create a full wāhine team that knows the stories behind our food systems, delivering the freshest dishes our island can offer. We specialize in curated menus that honor your dietary preferences, highlighting the best seasonal ingredients from Big Island's farms, ranches, and ocean.
Our services include full-service plated dinners, family-style feasts, wellness retreat catering, and artisanal brunches. Meet The Chef
Born into a family of passionate Italian chefs who immigrated from the rich culinary regions of Parma and Sicily to New York City, Susan grew up surrounded by the vibrant aromas and flavors of traditional Italian cuisine. It was in her family's bustling kitchen and extensive gardens that she first understood the profound connection between food and love—a belief that remains at the heart of her culinary creations today. Drawing from recipes passed down through generations, Susan has developed a style that beautifully marries the rustic charm of Italian cooking with the fresh, vibrant ingredients of the Hawaiian Islands.
After spending 10 years of working in the dynamic world of catering, Susan transitioned to private cheffing, where she discovered her true passion for crafting personalized, exquisite dining experiences. Her journey into private cheffing was inspired by the farm-to-table dinners she hosted on her farm, where she could share her love for fresh, sustainable ingredients and incorporate every aspect of the plant. Over the past five years, she has crafted bespoke menus for numerous clients, with each dish telling a story that connects local food systems with fresh culinary innovations.
Chef Susan's commitment to quality is deeply rooted in her two decades of cultivating a family food forest. There she ensures that only the freshest, hand-picked ingredients adorn her clients' tables. Her dedication to the source of our food is further enriched by strong partnerships with local Hawaiian farmers, ranchers, and fishermen, ensuring a menu that celebrates the abundance and sustainability of the islands.
